Hi there,
I am an Islander emigrated in London. I found this web site looking for pictures of Liri Island and it was great to watch 'passeggiata' again on the web camera.
Anyway, I am curious to know what is going on today in town since I saw that the road is closed and a lot of people are heading towards Boncompagni square. Can you shed any lite?

Hi Dave,
I'm glad you like my website and webcam. I don't know why the road was closed and anyway now I'm in Rome for job.
When I've read your message I supposed it was from a friend of mine (Dave) who lives in Leeds...
Anyway I'm very happy to read from an Islander who writes from London. I hope you'll come back soon on this forum!
Bye
P.S. I'm sorry for my english... but what means "Can you shed any lite?"

Hello from London
Hi Alessandro
"Can you shed any lite?" e' una frase colloquiale per chiedere se ne sai qualcosa.
Ero curioso di sapere quale evento stava attirando tanta gente.

Hi Dave,
my friend's name is Flavia but she lives in Leeds and I believe Leds is quite far from London...
As you can easly imagine (just watching my avatar...) I'm a Liri Blues fan! I love blues and I enjoy playing blues with my guitar.
In these 7 years I have seen many important artists at Liri Blues: Al Kooper (this year), Robben Ford in 2002, John Mayall in 2001, Eric Burdon & The Animals (last year), Roy Rogers (last year, too), Jimmy Smith (in 2004), Jorma Kaukonen (at "Suoni dal Mondo", another interesting festival in July), Taj Mahal (last year), Alex Britti (great when he plays blues!)...
In these last years, during Liri Blues, there were "on the road" performances before concerts in Boncompagni square. It is so funny to hear "Blue stuff", a group from Napoli playing napolitan blues (very nice, funny and ironic....!)
As I was saying... in the summer, at Isola del Liri, there is "Suoni dal Mondo". It is a good international festival of folk and world music.
On the politic side, during these 7 years we have changed sindaco (I don't kwon the english word for "sindaco"): after Magliocchetti now we have Quadrini (who belongs to the so called "left-centre" wing (I'm sorry for my raw translation from italian!)). With the previous "sindaco" I noticed a general improvement in the management of Isola Liri resources. Now, according to me, Isola Liri seems to be "static" in its economic development. We don't take care and emphasize our resource, such as Lefebvre factory, the "new orleans" auditorium, aquarium (ex Boimond factory), Pisani factory (near waterfall).... and many other projects are leaved undone...We are just able to build parckings! Obviously it's a my opinion...
Now i've to go. Keep in touch!

Grazie mille,
Fammi sapere se vieni a Londra.
Con il tuo inglese non avresti nessun problema a trovarmi.
Bye for now

mh... insomma......

Dopo qualche mese comincerai a distinguere le parole and you'll be ready to start dating an english 'chick'!
See ya!
