I tried to figure out the date using a magnifying glass but the letters in the masthead are just
too faint...I agree it would have been in his golden 50s, maybe shortly after he came to Rome as
CDF Prefect, because the bookcases look like the ones he had in Piazza della Citta Leonina. If so,
then the little touches would be Maria's, whom incidentally, Gabriella remembered yesterday on
the occasion of her birthday (she would have been 83), in what has now become the Ratzinger
family thread (in the French section).
Meanwhile, Ratzigirl posts the latest Ratzi-treasures offered on ebay. The cardinal-card is familiar,
but the picture in the book is equally ZOINKS!!!!!! and something I don't believe we have seen before.

figure out what the huge mural is - it does
not look like a Biblical scene....
