Ooopsss!!! It seems that in my eagerness to post the b/w pics above, I forgot to check out the captions.
The tree photos in the middle are undated, but obviously from an interview.
Those of Papa in suit (STUNC) , the two first are from his last day at work at the University of Regensburg!
The last ones are from the “farewell ceremony” at the university! Ufff! I cant help feeling a bit sorry for him.
We all know how much he loved his work as a teacher! But God had other plans for our Joseph .....

Papa was ordained archbishop of the Erzdioezese München und Freising on May 28, 1977.


“The day itself was extraordinarily beautiful – a radiant day in early summer,
the vigil of Pentecost 1977. The cathedral in Munich, (…) was splendidly decorated
and filled with a joyous atmosphere that was irresistible. I experienced what
a sacrament is – that what occurs in a sacrament is reality. ” (‘Milestones’ 1998)

Sunday's Angelus, at which Papa's adorable little forelock was superbly in evidence -
his proper hair length is when the forelock detaches itself perkily like this!

Oh, you are so right, Simone - and I'm usually so 'fastidious' about photos printed the wrong way.
My only excuse is that I was so taken by Papa's beauty that the most obvious thing even escaped my attention -
the ring is on the wrong hand this way!
So, please Nessuna, if you could reverse the picture and orient it properly, thank you!
