You got a question? This is the right place to ask anything you want to know about queen and record collecting in general, from differences between country issues, to records storage.

Here you'll find some of the most important and well known collectors wordwide.
Some of them have been seriously collecting queen records, autographs and memorabilia for 20 or even more years!

Hello everyone
Hi everyone.

I have only recently found this forum. I am a serious collector with a good amount of items, but I am struggling with one question.

I do not have the Japanese I Want It All promo, but I do not know how I can purchase a definite copy, as i believe most (maybe all) of the items on eBay are fakes.

Can anyone help here?

Chris

Hi welcome!

Difference are really hard to be seen on photos. On sleeve the only difference is a little point on the fake sleeve while original one doesn't have it.
This point is in one of the 2 diagonal writes over the lower part of the photo. These writes are inside 2 rectangles, the point interrupt one of the lines of the lower long sides of one of the rectangles, the line turn around the point in a semi-circle.
I'm talking about a 1 millimeter particoular...
other difference are the paper of the sleeve which is soft on the original and rather heavy on the fake and the numbers on the records run off which are scrached away in the fake.

Wow, thanks Karim. I never knew any of that. I will have to start searching hard for this item to add to my collection.

I saw a couple of tapemarked ones on ebay now, for one picture is so big that I could say that is the original one, while the other I'm unsure since the photo is too small...

anyway when you'll find one you could send me a big photo of the front sleeve(I could suggest you to ask the seller to send it before the deal) and I'll tell you if it's the original or not.

French You're My Best Friend
@ Karim

Hello,

I had a look at your wants list on Andy's Queen page and I have been surprised to see a record that does not officially exist: French 7" You're My Best Friend with picture sleeve.
Each time I heard rumours of its existence, it always came from Italy ; I remember having talked about it a few years ago with Leo Palma.
What can you tell me about it? Is it in your list just in case? Do you hope it appears many years after its first issue like the French Keep Yourself Alive discovered by Ferdy?
If it really exists, I guess it is also a promo without picture sleeve. That is probably the main reason why the KYA was unknown for all this time.
I would be very pleased if you could give me your advice as additionnal informations about it.

Grazie mille.

Alla prossima.

Hi

that want list was very very old, about 10 years, roumors of the existance of this single came from a really famous french delaer who told both me and Leo that he saw the single and that it looks like the italian one, in these years I never had any further new about this single so seems to be a most a chimera rather than a real item.
France is not a south american, an asiatic or an african country so we could say that this item shouldn't exsist at least in p/s, both 2 new discovers of these years from France, Kya and one year of love 12" 3d cover are promos or test press so not for sale and printed in very few numbers... if any YMBF in p/s exsist should be a commercial issue then printed in much more copies and available on the shops...that's why it's exsistance seems impossible.

Thanks a lot for your reply.
I agree with you and I love the idea of the Chimera metaphor (nice definition!).

Queen Jazz Flip Book & News Of The World Promo Puzzle
Hi Guys... this is a really beautiful site - just right for the die hard collector!

I´m wondering how much the Jazz German Promo Flipbook and the News Of The World Promo Puzzle are worth? Are these items rare? How many were made?

Thanks a lot & all the best from Germany

Really hard to say...I guess that were pressed in some hundreds copies, German record market is huge, so shouldn't be so few...

It's hard to give the right price to memorabilia, since it's seldom seen on ebay and on record fairs, so is difficcoult to have an exact idea of how much dealer asks for the item...
