Annuncio dei Blue: «Ultimo tour, poi una pausa di un anno: ognuno ha un suo progetto e chissà se torneremo insieme»

ROMA — I Blue sono il vero fenomeno pop. Peccato siano destinati a durare poco. La decisione, dicono i quattro ventenni inglesi, è irrevocabile: «Dopo il tour, previsto in primavera, ci prenderemo una pausa. Un anno, forse di più. Ognuno ha un suo progetto, ci concentreremo su nuovi orizzonti. Se ritorneremo a fare un album insieme? Chi lo sa cosa succederà in tutto questo tempo...». Le agguerrite fan saranno devastate: «Perché? dovrebbero invece continuare a seguirci e a sostenere i nostri sogni», sostengono i magnifici quattro, ospiti ieri della trasmissione «Amici» di Maria De Filippi e oggi a Milano per «Quelli che il calcio» con Simona Ventura. Intanto il nuovo «Best of Blue» è al primo posto in Italia.

In tre anni e mezzo hanno collezionato tre album al numero uno e dieci singoli nelle classifiche britanniche, hanno vinto due «Brit Awards», venduto oltre 7 milioni di album e 4 milioni di singoli. Hanno cantato con Stevie Wonder, Elton John e Angie Stone. «Con l’album "The Best" abbiamo chiuso un ciclo — spiega Antony —. Adesso dobbiamo andare oltre, vedere cosa ci aspetta. Non possiamo ritrovarci a quarant’anni per cantare ancora "All Rise"». Nessun riferimento ai Duran Duran (tornati in circolazione dopo un lungo silenzio) ma un apprezzamento sincero è riservato alla reunion dei Backstreet Boys. «Sono l’unica boyband a cui ci sentiamo vicini — sottolinea Lee — perché sanno cantare, conoscono la musica. Non sono dei bambocci il cui unico talento è la bellezza».

La storia dei Blue inizia nel 2000 a Londra: Duncan James e Antony Costa decidono di mettere in piedi un duo, a loro si aggiungono Lee Ryan, considerato l’ugola più promettente del momento, e il suo coinquilino Simon Webbe. «Non è facile per noi staccarci, dividiamo il ricordo di tanti bei momenti insieme. Quando abbiamo firmato il contratto non riuscivamo a trattenerci dalla gioia. Ma anche cantare a Wembley non è stato male».

L’imminente «pausa di riflessione» sembra dare credito alle voci che vogliono il gruppo spaccato dalle liti. «È spazzatura, siamo grandi amici. Fra di noi c’è rispetto». Sembrano sereni mentre si aggirano negli studi di Cinecittà. Sono rintanati in un unico camerino, con manager, parrucchiera e truccatrice. Duncan dagli occhi azzurri passeggia con una molletta gialla fra i capelli e indossa una maglietta con sopra la faccia di Bruce Springsteen. Simon succhia un ciucciotto da bebè mentre riposa sotto una coperta di cappotti. Lee ha bisogno di tempo per sistemarsi la cresta di capelli biondi. Antony non si separa mai dal pacchetto di sigarette. Baci, autografi e abbracci a tutti. «Le nostre fan sono tenere. Non ci danno mai fastidio. Sembra banale, ma è soltanto la verità, senza di loro non saremmo andati da nessuna parte. Siamo rimasti ragazzi semplici e modesti. È la nostra forza», dice Antony pronto a trasformarsi da cantante in attore come Duncan e Simon. «Ci avevano proposto di fare un film tutti insieme. Abbiamo rifutato. Con tutto il rispetto, non siamo mica le Spice Girls». Invece Lee è in trattativa con una tv italiana per un programma tutto suo e a gennaio debutta dietro la macchina da presa: «Fare il regista è sempre stato il mio più grande desiderio. La sceneggiatura l’ho scritta a 15 anni, parla di ragazzi che crescono nei difficili sobborghi. Sarà un film crudo e violento, sul genere di "Niente per bocca" di Gary Oldman. La trama è in parte autobiografica, perché anche io vengo dalla periferia». Duncan, Lee, Antony e Simon ammettono di essere cresciuti in fretta: «Se non vuoi perderti in questo mondo devi capire subito cosa fare. Di errori ne sono ammessi pochi. Abbiamo imparato a gestire noi stessi, i nostri soldi e la nostra vita».
Carriere nel cinema a parte, la musica però non l’hanno dimenticata: Lee ed Antony preparano i loro album da solisti. Duncan ha da poco fatto uscire «I Believe My Heart», in cui duetta con la cantante Keedie. È già un hit da classifica. Dice lui assonnato: «Se mi piace la musica è tutta colpa di mio nonno che ha pagato le mie lezioni di piano».

Presto nuove date in estate

In testa alle classifiche di tutto il mondo con il primo best of della loro carriera, i Blue hanno registrato, per i tre concerti italiani, il tutto esaurito. Quasi 30 mila biglietti venduti in soli 10 giorni per le tappe al PalaLottomatica di Roma (29 marzo), al MandelaForum di Firenze (30 marzo) e al Forum di Milano (31 marzo). Il tour manager, D'Alessandro e Galli, vista la grande richiesta, cercherà di aggiungere altre date estive.
Blue

Con il loro "Best of" i Blue hanno già venduto oltre 400mila copie, superando quattro volte il traguardo del disco di platino. Il dvd dallo stesso titolo ha venduto oltre 60 mila copie. La band ha annunciato da tempo che, terminata la tournée, si prenderà un anno sabbatico. Ognuno potrà realizzare un progetto solista nel campo della musica o in altri settori dello spettacolo. Il primo sarà certamente Duncan James. Andrew Lloyd Webber, il genio di moltissimi musical di successo, e Guy Chambers, fautore dei più grandi successsi di Robbie Williams, stanno lavorando al primo disco da solista di Duncan.

Andrew Lloyd Webber e Duncan hanno già lavorato assieme con il primo singolo, pubblicato ad ottobre, "I believe my heart", versione pop del brano principale del musical di Webber "The woman in white". Questo è un periodo d'oro per Duncan perché ad aprile diventerà papà. Claire, l'ex fidanzata, ha annunciato lo scorso novembre ai media di essere in dolce attesa.
Lee Ryan

Anche Lee Ryan vuole fare da sé, con un singolo tutto suo, hanno rivelato alcuni tabloid inglesi. Che Lee Ryan avesse in mente di spiccare un volo solitario sondando magari anche altre strade, una fra tutte il cinema, era nell'aria da tempo. Si è parlato di un film in cui racconterà la propria vita, segnata dal problema della dislessia e da una carriera scolastica molto faticosa. Il cantante avrebbe già scritto la sceneggiatura: manca solo un produttore che finanzi il progetto.

Il successo dei Blue è cominciato nel maggio del 2001 con "All Rise", balzato al numero quattro della classifica inglese, rimanendo nella top dieci per cinque settimane. Da allora sono arrivati riconoscimenti importanti anche da star internazionali del calibro di Elton John che li ha chiamati per un duetto sulle note di "Sorry seems to be the hardest word". E il terzo album, "Guilty", ha fruttato un doppio platino nel Regno Unito. L'estate 2004 dei Blue è stata caratterizzata dal singolo "A chi mi dice", scritto da Tiziano Ferro.

apparte che loro sono piu belli....i blue sono durati 3 anni quanto sono durati facendo canzoncelle i ramones sono durati 20 1nni e hanno fatto la storia del rock....sia chiaro che non intendo paragonare perche il paragone non puo esserci....ma siccome si parlava di gruppi che si sciolgono e che durano poco...
