parentesi folk/ambient/new age per la band svizzera I giovani svizzeri colpiscono e stupiscono. Per chi, come me, ha sempre apprezzato gli Eluveitie vecchio stampo si aspettava, a scatola chiusa, un cd death metal melodico con molti inserti folk.
Ascolto il cd per la prima volta e scopro che la componente metal è sparita! Nessuna chitarra elettrica, è sparito il potente growl maschile a vantaggio di una melodica voce femminile, ritmi lenti e riflessivi, strumenti rievocati da qualche passato lontano come hurdygurdy, flauti, viole, schwyzerörgeli (una specie di fisarmonica). In molte canzoni viene utilizzata la lingua gaelica.
Un cd che divide sicuramente dividerà i fan, anche per la forte componente pop. Io personalmente lo trovo molto bello, devo ancora assimilarlo completamente ma mi sembra un buon cd.
A detta dei componenti del gruppo questo cd è solamente un progetto a sè stante, gli eluveitie torneranno presto ad essere ciò per cui sono stati sempre apprezzati.

Grande, grandissimo disco!!!
Anche per gli Eluveitie il progetto del cd unplugged (come ad altri gruppi prima, vedi Elvenking/Manegarm/Finntroll/Borknagar) ha portato grandi risultati.
Bellissime le melodie e ottima prestazione vocale della brava (e bella) Anna Murphy. Per me si va nella città dolente, per me si va nell'eterno dolore, per me si va tra la perduta gente.
