' MORTO SYD BARRETT, IL FONDATORE DEI PINK FLOYD
LONDRA - Syd Barrett, fondatore dei Pink Floyd è morto. Lo ha dichiarato un portavoce della band.
Senza precisare le cause del decesso, il portavoce dei Pink Floyd ha detto: "E' morto in maniera serena un paio di giorni fa. Ci sarà un funerale privato per i familiari". Barrett aveva 60 anni. Il musicista fondò i Pink Floyd nel 1965 e scrisse molte delle loro prime canzoni. Nel 1968 lasciò la band per problemi di incompatibilità legati al suo consumo di droghe. Negli ultimi anni ha condotto una vita da recluso in una casa alla periferia di Cambridge.

tristezza profonda. Io ho appena letto la biografia dei Floyd scritta da Nick Mason, quindi un'autobiografia; fu messo da parte in un modo alquanto cinico: semplicemente si dimenticarono volutamente di andarlo a prendere...e da lì si dimenticarono sempre...
basta..vado a farmi un "Interstellar Overdrive"....

Ieri sera Roger Waters al concerto di Lucca, trasmesso in diretta da Radio Rai 1, durante le prime note di "Wish You Were Here" senza troppa retorica ha semplicemente detto: "vorrei dedicare questo brano ad un mio caro amico... Syd..."
Poi ha cantato il brano con voce sensibilmente spezzata dall'emozione...
Avevo un magone che non respiravo...
