Perrin lascia la città di Abila dopo aver incontrato Masema. Il profeta si ostina a non voler viaggiare con i portali e ha scelto un centinaio di uomini per scortarlo da Rand. Balwer inoforma Perrin che Airlon è stato sconfitto dai Sanchean e che Valda è fuggito ad est con i manti bianchi. A loro volta i Sanchean sono stati sconfitti in altara e costretti a ritirarsi ad Ebu dar. Perrin capisce che è opera di Rand. "Avanti parla, non lo dirò a nessuno"

Notare come Perrin, ogni volta che pensa a Rand, "vede" dei colori...

Ho visto cose che voi umani non potreste immaginare... navi da combattimento in fiamme al largo dei bastioni di Orione. E ho visto i raggi B balenare nel buio vicino alle porte di Tannhauser. E tutti quei momenti andranno perduti nel tempo come lacrime nella pioggia. È tempo di morire...

Mi chiedo perchè RJ abbia dovuto introdurre questa variante.Vuole percaso sottolineare il legame con il ta'varen più forte? Mi sembra una scelta inutile Ho visto cose che voi umani non potreste immaginare... navi da combattimento in fiamme al largo dei bastioni di Orione. Penso anch'io che sia un modo per enfatizzare ancora di più il legame fra ta'veren....
Fa quasi pensare al tipo di visioni che ha Min...
Odio Masema.... 
Perrin non è che mi faccia impazzire.... 
Mi sa che mi aspettano dei capitoli duri da leggere...almeno per me....

Il primo capitolo mi piace sempre un sacco, col suo veleggiare sulle ali del vento! Che grande RJ!
La cosa dei colori legata a Rand ha incuriosito anche me, ma non riesco proprio ad immaginarmi niente, certo che Perrin è un idiota a non soffermarcisi, ormai anche una capra avrebbe capito che deve far caso alle sue "stranezze"! Invece di pensare sempre solo a Faile... che latte alle ginocchia! 
Balwer, che personaggio curioso!
Goduria leggere che i Manti Bianchi vengono usati da animali da soma!  [Edited by Mercutia 9/18/2008 12:53 PM] Alcuni uomini venivano indeboliti dall'età, altri assumevano un aspetto stanco e trasandato. Bryne era diventato semplicemente inconfondibile, come un pilastro, costruito da un maestro scalpellino e poi lasciato agli elementi. L'età non aveva ridotto l'efficienza di Bryne o la sua forza. Gli aveva semplicemente dato carattere, spolverando le sue tempie d'argento e increspando il suo volto deciso con rughe di saggezza.

A proposito dei colori che vede Rand che possono essere associati alle visioni di Min, qual era la seconda volta che Rand aveva bisogno di avere Perrin vicino? Vi ricordate la visione che Min ha nel 6? Dice a Rand di tenerselo vicino xché gli avrebbe salvato la vita. Una volta direi abbia a che fare i Pozzi di Dumai, ma la seconda?
Sembra che Rand se ne sia fregato xché l'ha spedito a caccia del Profeta

Secondo me i "colori" avevano a che fare con il grande evento che si preparava per la fine del libro, anche se, ovviamente è legato al fatto di essere tutti e tre dei ta'veren.
Teoria che sembra venir confermata nel libro sucessivo:
Spoiler libro X Infatti si viene a sapere che pure Mat ha queste "visioni", e anzi, ad un certo punto (presumibilmente nel momento in cui Rand e Nyn iniziano l'operazione), i "colori" gli restituiscono un immagine dei due a shadar logoth

Un buon capitolo introduttivo. Il solo Sebban Balwer offre qualche spunto con le notizie dall'Amadicia e dall'Altara. A Perrin ovviamente manca Faile, solo la Luce sa che furia diventerà quando girando l'angolo non la troverà  |
