In cahirien perrin e gli altri, grazie a barelain , capiscono che rand è stato rapito.
Rand mentre viene maltrattato dalle aes sedai di elaida, mette in piedi un discorso coerente, o quasi, con lews therin al fine di liberarsi.
Abbiamo poi la conferma dell'implicazione degli shaido e dei reietti nel rapimento.

Premettendo che la traduzione di questo libro mi sembra molto più curata del precedente, leggendo questo capitolo, a pag 1013 della nuovissima edizione Fanucci, ho letto una frase alquanto strana e incomprensibile. Lo so che sulla Ciocci è già stato detto tutto ma questa è davvero comica.
Siamo nel momento in cui Perrin rientra a palazzo sperando quasi di incontrare Berelain per darle una scrollata. E cosa ti inventa la cara Valeria?

La mucca? LA MUCCA?
Sono andato a verificare sulla versione originale e, a parte il fatto che vi è scritto "fortunately", non vi è alcuna traccia del termine "cow" o altri che indichino la presenza di un quadrupede con le corna...
Mi sono fatto una grassa risata.

pensavo... il disegno spoileroso di cui sopra + in effetti presente in questo capitolo quindi forse non dovrei nasconderlo che dite?

Certo che ce ne hanno messo di tempo a capire che Rand e' stato rapito!!!!
Rand che fa secchi due Custodi..... Rand e' il miglior spadaccino!!!
Peccato che Jordan non ci ha raccontato esattamente come si e' liberato, come ha ucciso i due custodi e come sia stato di nuovo catturato.
Tutto l'esplorare dello schermo (e dei sei punti morbidi) da parte di Rand mi fa pensare che prima che venga liberato da qualcun'altro, trovera' da solo il modo di liberarsi. [Modificato da shai-tan 18/01/2006 14.57] ----------------------------------------

Adesso non ho il libro sotto mano (ma quando torno a casa controllero' anch'io).
Ho controllato sull' Encyclopaedia WOT e sul riassunto del capitolo dice solo che Rand uccide i due Custodi..... ----------------------------------------

Sono abbastanza fresca di lettura, l'ho finito sabato scorso, se non sbaglio uccide il primo custode a mani nude, gli prende la spada e uccide il secondo con la spada, se ricordo bene decapitandolo... ma dell'ultimo particolare sono un po' in dubbio....  |

Capitolo strepitoso! Sono senza parole!  Alcuni uomini venivano indeboliti dall'età, altri assumevano un aspetto stanco e trasandato. Bryne era diventato semplicemente inconfondibile, come un pilastro, costruito da un maestro scalpellino e poi lasciato agli elementi. L'età non aveva ridotto l'efficienza di Bryne o la sua forza. Gli aveva semplicemente dato carattere, spolverando le sue tempie d'argento e increspando il suo volto deciso con rughe di saggezza.

Sto finendo il Signore del Caos e sono combattuto tra la frenesia della lettura e la voglia di avere tra le mani ancora per un po'questo splendido libro,finora per me il migliore di Jordan.
Un altro capitolo fantastico...la parte in cui Rand subisce la tortura,la promessa(stavolta penso e spero per lui definitiva)di non fidarsi mai più,il furore al pianto di Min..un altro passo necessario per dare al personaggio quello spessore unico,che ne farà il "Messia" del mondo di Jordan;

finalmente hanno capito che rand è prigioniero!era ora!
Rand grandioso!!!da solo,schermato,disarmato e con intorno parecchie aes sedai uccide due custodi prima che queste reagiscano!le lezioni aiel e da spadaccino direi che hanno avuto effetto! --------------------------------------------------

Rand si è fatto mettere nel sacco dalle Aes Sedai come un pivellino, però poveraccio, richiuso in una cassa con la testa tra le ginocchia.  Tra l'altro ci sono di mezzo anche l'Ajah Nera e gli Shaido; ma non è ancora stato spiegato a che serve questo cubo che ha Sevanna o me lo sono perso? E non si sa nemmeno chi glielo ha dato?
Preoccupante la situazione nella testa del povero Rand, che addirittura si mette a dialogare con Lews e ad elaborare una strategia, almeno spero che serva a liberarlo. Su Efp sono ALanna

che quanto piace al mondo è breve sogno.
