What is going on with the photos? Some of them have disappeared from the Italian section as well. Is the forum being singled out for some sort of censure?

More likely sabotage - Sihaya mentions some nasty threats on the Visit with Papa thread. Hope normal service can be resumed. I use a different option when posting pictures, not hotlink, but the one on the fifth line down. Could this help?

PS: Actually no, it's pointless - i've just seen the devastation of Page 1 of Good Morning where i had posted some fotos, but they are still in Image shack, so the link has been destroyed from this end

What kind of pitiful ninny would want to sabotage a website about a pope? Good Lord, aren't there enough truly awful things in this world to worry about or work on instead of wasting one's time, mind, and energy attempting to ruin something for people who are trying to be positive and caring? Well, the would-be sabateurs can erase Papa's image in cyberspace but not in our minds and hearts. It appears to me they have failed both as sabateurs and as human beings. In the meantime, could some of those lovely photos be reposted using another more secure means perhaps?

I agree 200% with benefan, if this is sabotage it's pathetic. The perp is either a bloodless hard line trad who thinks we are all in mortal sin (well - HUH!) or someone who hates Papa B and is no doubt angry/jealous that he can arouse such strong expressions of appreciation and support. If Sihaya had to resort to posting her beautiful account in the Sante Coccole section, which is closed to all but the Sisterhood, there is perhaps (admittedly a desperate idea) a possibility of us joining said sisterhood, or having a daughter house here for those of us who wouldn't mind being novices, with a restricted access section. From the comments about ruffled hair smoothing,etc, I think that many here are already sisters in spirit anyway.

The words I would like to use to describe the slimy grungy thing who did this to our beloved forum are too dreadful to print anywhere and certainly not on the forum of someone we love so very much!
OK - I'll tell it like it is!!!! Papa Benedetto XVI is the most wonderful, cleverest, most intellectual, most HOLY, most beautiful, man in the world......and he is OUR HOLY FATHER. If we love him and want to tell the world, we have a right to do so.
This thing who has done this to us has no idea what LOVE is. Someone who wants to waste time trying to mess things up for us has some news coming: you are nothing, you are a loser, because you will never stop us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I write this on behalf of all those who truly love Papa, who are in this forum and who have hearts of gold, yes they do.

Sorry, girls, I was out the whole day going through my annual
medical check-ups and I logged in just now to read about all this uproar....so I have gone back to check the picture pages at least in our section, and apart from the fact that some pictures take a little time to load (they usually do), I do not see that we have lost anything. What happened exactly?
What froggy replacing all the pictures??? ...I hope everyone is saving the pictures they like to hard disk as soon as you see the pictures...That way, you will still have them even if someone hacks into the forum...I hope nothing happened today that is irretrievable....I will check the French section and the main forum now....

P.S. Sylvie just posted in "Chatter" that she got some notices
saying "Hotlinks have been suspended frm this site..." in her Catholic Press Photo montages, but I see that most of them are back. Two or three seem not to be loading at all, but since there are no notices or little boxes with red crosses, I assume it's leisurely loading, as is unfortunately happening with Simone's wonderful video caps of Ratzi. I pray this is all one of those unexplainable computr 'glitches" and not the start of anything malicious....

Teresa, you had to be there!

To put it in a nutshell, a large number of photos in our section and others of the Papa Ratzinger Forum disappeared overnight and were replaced by a square with a frog in it with the comment Sylvie reported and suggesting the use of ImageShack. It was initially thought that this was an attempted hacking and annoyance simmered to the point where us villagers were beginning to light torches to march on the house of the hacker, if we could figure out who he/she was.

Meanwhile, within the past hour or two, miraculously, the photos are back. Perhaps a computer glitch??? Perhaps a new advertising gimmick by ImageShack? Perhaps a hacking followed by a miracle???

I consider it Papa's second miracle. See what happens when you are away from your computer all day? Next time, take it to the doctor's office with you.

I must have logged on after all the hoopla was over... but if swearing services are needed again by my Catholic sisters for what ever reason just let me know... that is until Easter Vigil when I become Catholic too

Do I detect a bit of the "aggressive nurse" syndrome surfacing?

I'd really like to know whether it's a problem with Imageshack or
some hacker-nerds. Many pics just showing up as a yellow froggy which is the ImageShack trademark I guess.
But I found out, Ezboard doesn't work too. Maybe there's a coherency ?

Well I still can't see all the pictures. Many are OK,but, for instance, those studio shots on the preceding page on this page, the ones where he poses on a sedan, etc, are now replaced by frogs! ARGH! And Maryjos sees what I do. We thought it was because some *insert swear word* had tampered with Image Shack links.

No, I don't often save images, I tend to look at them on line. Fie!!!
